Empties #1 2016

I know it has been almost two months since my last post here (eek!) but believe it or not, my life has been so hectic lately! I have been missing blogging so much though so I decided to come back with a new post. I have used it some nice products lately so I decided to jump on the bandwagon and present you my very first post with empties :-)

I am a lipstick junkie. I love me some lipstick. I always wear lipsticks even on day when I don't wear any other makeup. In the past few weeks I have finished four of them!

1. Burberry Lip Mist in Camelia Pink no. 207

Such a wearable pink sheer lipstick <3 Beautiful shade, nice lasting power considering that it's a sheer product and lovely scent to it. I'm not sure if I will repurchase this particular one though because I've been more into deeper shades lately.

2. Tom Ford Lip Color in Flamingo 08

I got this lipstick for my birthday a while ago. I loved the shade so I decided to treat myself to something special. It's taken me a while to use it up because I didn't like it! You might ask why, so here's the main reason - it was drying out my lips like crazy. I found out it's not the TF thing, it's just this particular shade that doesn't work well with lips that might be on the drier side. Sad, sad times. I won't be repurchasing it ever again. Never.

3. MAC Plumful

This shade is so me! I love everything mauve so it had to be mine. It's sheer yet very buildable but its lasting power is awful! It stays put on my lips for an hour or so without eating, even talking.. I love this shade though so I will probably repurchase it but I'm not too happy with its quality.

4. Dior Rouge Baume in 988 Nuit Rose

Another me shade.  Yes, I do love everything mauve. Although the shade is much darker, it somehow reminds me of MAC Plumful but the Dior lipstick is more pigmented and it stays on for much longer. It is also more expensive but can we all take a moment and look at this packaging? Gorgeous!

5. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Ethereal Glow

Hands down the prettiest blush I have ever seen. The shade is perfect. I love baby pink but some of them are too pink (I know, but trust me baby pink can be too pink ;) ). This one is perfect. It compliemts my skin tone and it's basically the only blush I use every day. I have already repurchased it and I can't imagine my life without it! <3

6. Guerlain Meteorites Compact in 2 Light

It has my first Mereorites ever and I must say this gorgeous powder is really worth the hype. It worked amazing even on my oily skin. I have used up the compact version (the cheaper one, not the luxurious one;) and I have already purchased the very limited edition Meteorites from Guerlain Winter 2015 collection (they're amazing!) but I still think that the compact version is just more convenient to use especially if you're as clumsy as I am ;-)

7. Wibo Boom Boom Mascara

Big wand, big hopes, big dissapointment. There's nothing special about this mascara I could say. I won't be repurchasing it.

I hope you liked me post and I hope to see you very soon (let's hope it will be March and not May?;) )

2015 Favourites

I am so late to the party because I've been so busy (again) but today I have pulled myself together and I am coming to you with my 2015 beauty (and some non-beauty) favourties.

Let's start off with base. I am absolutely obsessed with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Ethereal Glow. Its staying power is amazing and the shade is just gorgeous. I have been using it for 18 months and as you can see, I am about to run out of it which makes me very sad. I have already ordered a new one and I can't wait to start using it! And it's the first blush I have ever repurchased!
I am sure I don't have to introduce anyone to Guerlain meteorites. Why did I include here two packagings? I absolutely loved the pressed ones (the normal version, not the fancy one) but I have finished them already and a few weeks ago I decided to treat myself to something special and I got the limited edition Meteorites from winter collection. They are too die for. They make my face look glow without looking too oily or wet. I have been using this Chanel Poudre Signee highlighter for 2 years. I have purchaded it in January 2013 and I have just recently hit the pan on it. The shade is beautiful and it lasts put for ages! The Illamasqua Scultpting Powder Duo in Lumos&Heliopolis is the perfect tool for pale girls who like to contour without looking weird. The contouring shade is pretty light so you won't hurt yourself (or your make-up) whilst using it. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil  matte bronzer in medium/deep is my latest purchase. It stays put 15 hours (my skin is very oily) and it blends easily. Have I mentioned it smells like chocolate? I wish I had it in lighter shade though, because this mini bronzer is a little too dark for me (is it Summer yet?) but I just had to mention it in today's post because its quality is amazing. Last but not least, foundations and concealers. Foundations are my biggest love. My skin is very high-maintenance. It is very oily, very sensitive, prone to allergy, acne, dry spots, blackheads... and I am very picky when it comes to foundations. The Urban Decay Naked foundation has a light/medium coverage (very buildable) and it is a perfect every day foundation for me. It doesn't oxidize, budge nor set in pores. When I want my skin to look perfect for 10+ hours I reach for Charlotte Tilbury Magic foundation. I have never tried a foundation that would give you so much coverage being so lightweight at the same time. I don't wear it every day because I tend to go for more natural look (not that it makes me look fake, but you know what I mean). The Urban Decay Naked concealer works well as an under eye concelaer.

I might be a little obsessed with lipsticks and lip products in general. Believe me, it wasn't easy to pick only seven products for this post! I have picked Givenchy Le Rouge A Porter lipstick in 303 (beautiful shade, nice pigmentation for a balm), NARS lip pencils in Rikugien (satin, nice every day color) and Cruella (matte, it stays put for ages! you can eat, drink and kiss and it won't fade away! + it doesn't dry out my lips like matte lipsticks tend to do), Marc Jacobs lipstick in 216 Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (the most creamy lipstick I have ever tried! + the shade is perfect for everyone), Urban Decay Sheer lipstick in Shame (very pigmented for a sheer lipsticks, moisturising), NARS Audacious lipstick in Anna (satin, almost matte gorgeous lipstick) and Maybelline Color Elixir in 135 (nice colour, very moustirising). In 2015 I have also been using Anastasia Beverly Hills brow duo powder in Medium Dark, my absolutely favourite eyeshadow primer Wet N Wild (IMO it's better than NARS, Urban Decay and Too Faced) and Tarte Precision Longwear liquid eyeliner.
I am known for wearing my sunscreen every day. So far my favourite one is this one from Vichy. It's great for oily skin and it doesn't leave white cast. I have been also enjoying two face mask - Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask (it smells like cinnamon and leaves skin clean and moisturised) and Aesop Parsley Seed  cleansing mask (apparently it's suited to most skin types but I wouldn't recommend it if your skin is very sensitive, I can only use it on my t-zone because it's too harsh for my cheeks). As for nail varnishes, I have picked out three that I have been wearing a lot this year - Essie Bahama Mama (I love this shade!), Rimmel Berries And Cream (it's slightly more red than Essie) and Nails Inc Bamboo White (gorgeous, gorgeous nude).

Bath&Body Works Frosting Cinnamon candle is my favourite candle ever. It smells like cinnamon cookies. Last but not least, Kindle - it's so far the best purchase I have ever made. I love reading but I hurt my back and neck a few weeks ago and I am not allowed to carry heavy books with me so I got Kindle and I got totally obsessed with it. At first I wasn't so sure about it, because you know, it's not a real book, but it's so lightweight and portable :-)

What are your 2015 favourites? :-)

What I got for Christmas 2015

Hello my lovelies :-)

I know it has been a while since my last post here. I have been extremely busy with school and work but deep down I've been missing blogging so much so I decided to give it a try again.

I didn't know what to share first - my Christmas presents or 2015 favourites. I decided to go with what I got for Christmas post because I've been really enjoying reading them :)

I know it might sound weird for some people, but in my family we don't do surprise gifts. Everybody makes wishlists or even buy his own presents. In my case my family got me money to get myself something pretty. And I did.

I have been lusting after one of Tom Ford eyeshadow quads for ages. I have to admit I wanted to get Urban Decay Naked 2 palette but when I was really to order it, I noticed a cheeky e-mail from Douglas which said they had 30% off eyeshadows, lipsticks and nail polish. And I caved. I stil do think the prices is a little ridiculous but can we all please take a moment and admire this gorgeous quad? I am in love and I hope so are you.

Ever since I saw Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in Dusty Rose I knew I had to have it but it seems to always be sold out and the shipping costs are very high so I decided to try out its cheaper dupe - Sephora lip stain in Marvelous Mauve 13. I also got my favourite lip liners - 2 x Rosewood, 1 x Classic Pink and 1 x Deep Aubergine.

Last but not least, I got a beige jumper and gorgeous mittens.

I hope you liked this post and I will see you very soon with my 2015 favourites!

I also would like to wish you a very Happy New Year!

MY PERFECT AUTUMNAL LIPSTICKS

Hello everyone :-)

I know I haven't posted anything in ages. I have been extremely busy with finishing my MA degree. Last week I graduated from the university with a Master's degree and I finally have some time on my hands so I decided to show you my favourite lipsticks for autumn.

Fall/autumn is definitely my favourite season. I love wearing cosy sweaters and scarves, the smell of hot chocolate and wet leaves (I know, I am  weird). It's so beautiful and colourful. I like wearing dark lipsticks but especially in autumn I feel more confident to reach out for my favourite shades. I am not a huge fan of red so basically all my lipsticks are  pink and mauve but I do have some peachy pinks in my collection.

Like I said, today I want to show you my top 8 picks for autumn. At first I wanted to show you only 5 of them but I couldn't decide which one to ditch.

All of my lipsticks are high end because well, I have to admit that, lipsticks are my biggest weakness and soon I would also love to share with you my lipsticks wishlist.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine 92 Emotion is probably the most beautiful raspberry lipstick I have ever seen. It is sheer yet very pigmented and buildable. It stays put on for ages and I try to save it because it was a limited edition lispstick.

I got this NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien as a birthday gift from US Sephora. At first I thought it was too nude for me but it actually looks more mauve on lips and has a wonderful lasting power.

Marc Jacobs lipstick in 216 Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is probably the most creamy lipsticks I have ever used. It applies beautifully, it's pigmented like crazy and makes your lipsticks look fuller.

NARS Audacious lipstick in Anna is definitely on the matter side. It is slightly drying but it stays put for hours. It is also very pigmented and it doesn't budge.

Now it's time for one my favourite lipsticks - MAC Plumful which is probably the most popular ever. I can't blame it because it's the most gorgeous plumy shade which is sheer and very buildable. It basically suits everyone. I'm nearly running out of it and I'm already planning on getting a new one. As soon as possible.

Dior Baume in 988 Nuit Rose is basically a berry very pigmented lip balm which is amazing because not only it gives your lips some colour (actually a lot of colour) but also it takes care of your lips. I'm sold. So are my lips.

Don't let Urban Decay Sheer lipstick in Shame scare you. Like its name suggest, it is a very sheer lipstick but it still is very pigmented. It it's definitely pinker and cooler than other lipstick that I have shown but it is still a lovely shade for autmn.

Last but not least, it's my newest lipstick Givenchy Le Rouge-A-Porter in 303 Framboise Griffee. It actually looks almost like my favourite Chanel lipstck in Emotion but it's less pigmented yet more creamier. You can easily build it up and it won't dry out your lips.

What are your favourite lipsticks shades for fall/autumn? Let me know!

Nails Inc Victoria Beckham Nail Polish In Bamboo White

Do you believe in love at first sight? I do, sometimes I do. The minute I saw this gorgeous shade I knew I had to get it.

I have to admit I'm not a huge fan of Nails Inc varnishes or Victoria Beckham. I don't like Nails Inc new packagings either. I miss their sleek bottles. This shade gets also very mixed reviews but it's so lovely, I can't stop looking at it.

It is desrcibed as an ivory color and I think that's what it is. It applies very smoothly and you need two coats to reach opacity. Believe me, I'm not good at applying nail polish but this one doesn't smudge at all. The brush is quite wide which is very helpful. It stays put for about 5 days with Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat.

Do you like this shade? I might have gotten a second bottle just in case because I'm so in love with this colour :-)

Who am I?

Hi everyone :-)

It's not my first blog but since it's my first post on here I've decided to tell you a little about myself :-) and to make it easier just share some random facts about me:-)

I'm a 20-something girl and I'm currently doing my masters degree in linguistics and bachelors degree in Chinese language. I am a big fan of detective novels and high end makeup. I am rather pale so I seem to always be on the hunt for a new very light foundation. I love good music and traveling. I am obsessed with psycholinguistics. I love watching Friends and Gilmore Girls.

1. I am a compulsive researcher. I have to google everything which it a little annyoing when I'm out with friends.

2. I love languages. Any languages. Grammar. Linguistics. All that fun.

3. I have been dealing with anxiety and depression almost all my life. I know it's very trendy now to have anxiety but mine isn't something I'm proud of. It has put me down so many times and it makes me socially awkward.

4. I got a beautiful puppy 6 months ago and I love him so much! :-)

5. I'm lefthanded

Hope you enjoy them and I'll see you soon! :-)
